On the first day of trial the prosecutor announced they would be seeking a four-year sentence – the maximum allowable under the law. Three days later, after the jury was sworn, Mr. Wallach negotiated a lesser-charge where the client was promptly released and upon completion of probation, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor and expunged from his record.
